Charcoal and red chalk on newsprint
24” x 18”
I took a four-week summer figurative drawing course in Princeton. We studied for 6 hours each day from a live model. I found the experience extremely challenging but rewarding because I learned concrete methods for organizing the proportions of the human body. Studying correct proportions helped me to apply my understanding of values over complex forms. The knowledge I gained in this course has been invaluable because it re-framed how I think about shading and the human body.
