Still Life with Pearls and Peacock Feathers

Soft pastel and white chalk on toned paper

30” x 19”

I arranged pearls, peacock feathers, shells, and artifacts from my art school's collection. The combination of these objects captures the opulence of coastal life during an unspecified ancient era. Pearls, corals, and delicate vessels symbolize wealth, and its connection to the vast oceans. This arrangement shows a culture where the allure of the sea and affluence were inseparable.
